Savory crepes “served with a mesclun salad in a creamy balsamic vinaigrette include a choice of seven various cheese, chicken, seafood and vegetable combinations”. A display case “reveals an enticing assortment of gourmet pastries and cakes from Italy; including the Bindi line of fine pastries”. Service is “pleasant and helpful”

GREEK

MEDITERRANEAN SNACK BAR

360 New York Ave.
Huntington, NY
Phone: 631-423-8982

http://www.medsnackbar.com

Popular Huntington spot for gyros,
salads and fish.

When “the owner catches his own fish and grows his own produce”, you know the ingredients must be fresh at this Huntington Mediterranean institution that’s been dishing out “consistently” “excellent” Greek dishes for more than 25yrs; there’s “no décor at all” and it’s “always jammed”, but its “good-value” eats and “casual”, “fun vibe” make worth waiting in line. -

MENU

“Very Good” - New York Times

Huntington has a “new culinary star”. “Despite its storefront location and moderate prices, Osteria da Nino has the look of a special-occasion spot, with white tablecloths, carpeting and five elaborate chandeliers…It’s the food that makes or break it and Osteria da Nino has it made. Desserts set Osteria da Nino apart from most other Italian restaurants on the Island”- Joanne Starkey , New York Times

Recommended dishes: Barley soup, baby artichokes, eggplant Parmesan, seafood salad, fried calamari, broccoli rabe with sausage, panzanella salad, grilled vegetable salad, rigatoni amatriciana, hay and straw, linguine with clams, salmon, sea bass, pork chops, all desserts. - New York Times

Mill Pond House

A "winning combination", "fabulous food" and "a view to match" - has reviewers enraptured over this "beautifully renovated" Centerport steakhouse-seafooder with an "incredible waterfront" locale; the kitchen's creations are "sumptuous " and "superb" (as one would expect from these owners, also behind Piccolo) and brought to table by "attentive, professional" servers; "dinner on the terrace watching the sun set over the pond - what could be more romantic than that?"
