DATE: Friday, June 10 at
8pm & 10:30pm
On Friday, June 10 th at 8pm & 10:30pm , the Inter-Media Art Center in Huntington , Long Island will host a concert with jazz guitarist AL DIMEOLA performing ELECTRIC during a portion of the set.
Combining passion, intelligence and outstanding technique in music, AL DiMEOLA is one of modern guitar's true virtuosos. The winner of a record 15 awards from the prestigious Guitar Player Poll, he is the youngest guitarist to be entered into their Gallery of Greats.
Making an auspicious debut in 1974 in Return to Forever, a stint that earned a Grammy and four gold records for that group, including one for the album "Romantic Warrior," which launched his own career -- a career that has, to date, included 17 records for a total of over six million albums sold and four more gold records. A consummate composer and musical innovator, he has experimented with the newest technology including the Fairlight Computer and the synclavier guitar as well as using ancient instruments and rhythms. His range of collaborators is equally impressive, ranging from Return to Forever alumni Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Airto Moreira and Lenny White to Phil Collins, Bill Bruford, Paco DeLucia, John McLaughlin and Larry Coryell.
Al DiMeola's past IMAC performances have been unforgettable
events, and we look forward to welcoming him back for another
evening of incredible music
